The Peacock

A strange thing happened today. I had just finished a work out at the gym with a friend and said my goodbyes. I’m walking towards the car park not thinking about much and place my bag in the car…and there it is… The Peacock.

Literally, a peacock was just sitting there staring at me and my eyes were fixed on how beautiful it was. I approached it and it scampered away, I followed. I became concerned with its presence as this was no place for such a bird, a concrete industrial estate and I began to ring local pet rescues only to be told they wouldn’t take it.

I was saddened as I didn’t want to see such a beautiful creature be put in harm’s way. The funny thing is, the peacock doesn’t care, it wasn’t fazed one bit. It was just happy “being” and carried on. It was beautiful.

Sometimes in life things just happen for a reason, even if it’s just to share a moment. Here is some information on what the Peacock represents.

Peacock symbolism: Vision, Royalty, Spirituality, Awakening, Guidance, Protection, & Watchfulness. In Greco-Roman mythology, the Peacock tail has the “eyes” of the stars. In Hinduism, the Peacock is associated with Lakshmi who represents patience, kindness and luck.  (
